The Winter Flight Exam
I didn't put much thought into this one. I had a story with a punch line to write and this was but the punch line. BTW, the character to the right with a Star of David on his helmet is Ava's boyfriend Nick Chancy.
Your powers of self-denial are astounding, Ava.
Anne is less than virtuoso levels at piloting - by which I mean she wrecked within six seconds of her first getting into a ship. Nick isn't much better.
Catherine was "born" in March 2019 (if you could call being removed from a glass jar with almost no fuss birth), which makes her about nine months old right now. (I'm going with the Attack of the Clones model, in which the clones matured super fast and then sorta stopped aging.) So basically she's an adult physically, a person with no feelings emotionally, and a baby intellectually. Catherine's mental capabilities do not go beyond "bang on it and maybe that'll do something." That makes her something of a one-trick pony, but there's a dumb answer to almost every question, so that does also make Cathy very versatile. . .
I'm not sure what she was doing in Ava's engine compartment either. But this entire short story revolves around her and it was funny, so I'm just running with it. . .
Drumroll please! This is the cartoon this entire post with all of its incredibly stupid (yet remarkably funny) comics has been leading up to!
