It's those big black eyes, Ava. That triggers a maternal instinct of yours similar to the one a newborn baby is engineered to trigger and makes it very hard to say no.
According to some book I read on cats, that actually is one of the major aspects of how cuteness works. It's obviously a good idea for us to have a tendency to keep our young alive, so there are some traits of human babies (which cats share) that are there to appeal to parental instincts in older humans. . . and rather large eyes is one of them. That little interplay makes us consider these attributes appealing. (Then again, there are a few holes in that theory, so that might not be the hole story.)
