Ava v. Anne

As you can imagine, it was quite the case.

C'mon, Shylock, lay off the girl!

Lest there be any confusion, I was directing that in a very sarcastic manner at Ava. Ultimately, if it's Rachel who gets Ava off her self destruction mania it's probably going to involve threats and extortion. And by now, I'd probably stand by her - Ava really could learn a thing or two from Shylock, such as how to not let people stomp all over you.

As I said. The only way Rachel is going to get Ava to be in any way sincere about this is going to involve either the threat of physical violence or someone else pulling a mind trick. Neither one would be permanent, which is why Rachel probably won't be the person who pulls Ava back from the brink.

In the unwritten fourth panel, Ava randomly started hitting Anne with the nearest object. This is a sensitive subject for her. And by sensitive subject, I mean she would talk about her sister Danielle's death in an Xwing accident before she'll talk about her guilt/denial issues. Such is the essence of both denial and guilt.

You know what, I recant what I said a few comics back. I said Rachel won't be the one who saves Ava because the only possible way she will get Ava to listen to her is via physical violence, or at least threats of such. On second thought, that might actually work if the person she's threatening/roughing up is Anne, rather than Ava.

Except that won't work, because Ava also feels the same debt feeling to Rachel and will just change the name she's wrecking herself in if Anne stops being so demanding. Then again, I guess millionaire Rachel will find it easier to convince Ava that she doesn't need anything Ava could provide than she will to convince Ava that Anne is conning her.
